Conceptual Design & Development

This section highlights projects at the intersection of audio, design, and entrepreneurship. From developing a portable monitoring speaker tailored to the needs of mobile producers, to converting underutilized spaces into functional recording environments, each project combines creative vision with practical design thinking, budget awareness, and real-world application.

STUDIO CONVERSION PLAN – UNUSED ROOM TO RECORDING STUDIO

Developed a comprehensive plan to convert a small, untreated room into a fully functional recording studio. The project focused on maximizing sonic accuracy and workflow efficiency within spatial and budget constraints. All design decisions were guided by acoustic fundamentals and real-world studio needs.

  • Documented the full conversion process from initial room assessment to studio-ready plan

  • Measured dimensions and created a detailed layout with acoustic treatment strategy

  • Used acoustic zoning to separate control and recording areas, minimizing interference

  • Identified early reflection points and proposed strategic panel placement

  • Recommended bass traps and broadband absorbers to improve low-end and overall clarity

  • Designed gear placement and cable routing for clean, efficient workflow

  • Prioritized monitoring accuracy through intentional design in a non-ideal space

Routing Signal Flow

Studio Layout

Top-down floor plan illustrating the proposed studio configuration, including acoustic treatment zones, furniture placement, and listening position. The design separates the room into two functional zones — a control area and a recording area — to support both critical listening and creative workflow within a compact footprint.

Early Reflection Point Diagram

Visualization of first-order reflection points used to guide acoustic panel placement. This layout helps reduce comb filtering and phase issues by minimizing early reflections at the listening position, improving clarity and stereo imaging in the studio.

Studio Renovation Budget

Snapshot from the full studio renovation budget, outlining early material and treatment costs. This excerpt captures a portion of the detailed financial planning used to guide acoustic treatment, gear integration, and space optimization within a limited budget.
